My beautiful ladies Adrianna and Kamilah they grow and learn so fast anyway I talked to 2 amazing strong young women Millennials about how it is being in the age of millennials in tech and the challenges they face in it. Also why they love WWCode and how they continue to try to find that job in tech after graduating from college.
My granddaughter called me one day and said to me that she don't call me enough and just wanted to talk to me and I was like OK sweetie (grandma loves her grandbabies) even though I was busy I just let her talk but something she said made me stop working when she start explaining to me about seeing a Tesla and how she had done her research about the car and that when I said to her do you want to test drive a Tesla and that when the adventure begins.
A year passed and now it April 2016. I get an email from Alisha from The Mercadantes at Park Pictures asking do I have time to talk. Now when I got the email I was like…..
I don’t know, I don’t know….
So I was about to email her back but instead, I call her, we talked and we just hit it off…she was this beautiful young lady with this amazing personality. She then asked me did I have time to tell my story and I was like YES!!! I do.
So right around this time, Women Who Code was planning a hackathon for women (Atlanta). While meeting with Women Who Code ladies (CEO Alania, Global Director Joey, Erica, Beth and myself) I told them what happened and Alaina told me it was Apple......silence. They had me to contact her so they could ask questions about me.
The reason that I started the blog is because for several years people that I have met told me too many time to start a blog and I was like, I can’t write, I hate writing, I’m not good with grammar or spelling or anything to do with this writing thing.
At one of my jobs I even got written up almost fired just because of this grammar, spelling, writing thing so when I tried to explain why I don't write I would think that folks would totally understand where I was coming from.
